Introduction to the Orthodox Church

Creation and Cults

In genesis 1;1 God is the creator of heaven and earth. This is what orthodox church believes. They believe that God made everything on earth. Consequently, they believe that the bible reveals God himself and the salvation rather than scientific booklet as other Christians believe.

In the early church, cults were managed by Ecumenica councils of the church. Most of the cults alter the interpretation of the bibles and perceive it in their own language and idea. They at a times perform true Christianity by sharing with the poor and doing charity work. Cults alienates one from the love of God and they later die and the word of God remains.

Church discipline refers to complete holiness, purity and repentance of sins in the church. S.t paul emphasized about excommunication to those involved in unrepentant sex. S.t john emphasized that those who reject God should not receive anything from their home. Orthodox church adheres to church discipline by teaching Gods people to live holy lives and be pure in their christian lives.

Divorce and Abortion

Marriage is united by God. Those who are married should not separate. Orthodox church laments with the divorcees. the church have great compassion for the divorcees and does not take any law against this. In case a divorce occurs and remarriage takes place again, prayers and repenting is done by two parties and allowed to reunite. Abortion - In psalms 139;13, the scripture says that we were formed in our mothers womb and that God made every part of us. Abortion is perceived by orthodox church as a crime and killing of a human being. When the life of a person is terminated by abortion, God is not happy. Its logic to either abstain from unprotected sex or else give birth to the child and adopt him or her.

Heaven and Confession

Heaven: It is a place for all saints passed from the life stage and Gods angels. Christians belong to the kingdom of heaven although they are on earth. Orthodox church believes that heaven is part of christian life. It’s building is build to take part in heaven realities.
Confession: This denotes surrendering ones sins to God or man. Orthodox church followed the new testament teachings of confessing their sins before the man of God and personal confession to God. Confession is the way in which we as Christians are assured that our sins are forgiven. When we confess, we tend to forsake those sins completely.
